Day 1 - Friday

Day 1 has been great! The first leg of our trip brought us to Atlanta where we sang at the Kingsbridge Retirement Community. The kids sounded wonderful! I couldn't believe how well they sounded, especially since we haven't practiced individually in two weeks or both groups together in about three weeks. The residents were so thrilled with the group. We stayed at Kingsbridge for a lunch of fried chicken, french fries, green beans, okra, salad and dessert (yum... warm chocolate brownie and ice cream).

Other than that, the trip was mostly bus life. The bus is pretty full since we have such a large number on the trip (which is wonderful)! So, things are tight, but no complaining so far. This evening we stopped in Meridian, Mississippi for dinner at Cracker Barrel.

We arrived in Baton Rogue, Louisiana about 11:00 p.m. for the night. The kids are safely tucked away in bed, and we look forward to hitting the road in the morning. We have about eight hours to go tomorrow and plan to arrive in San Antonio in time for dinner.
